Team Play in Honzava5: Co-op and PvP, No Fluff
Honzava5 has two real team modes. Not just “group up and hope.” Two actual designed experiences.
Echo Protocol is 4-player PvE co-op. You must be in a full party. Matchmaking fills empty slots.
But only if you’re queued as a group of 1. 3. Solo queue? You’ll wait longer.
(And yes, cross-platform works here (PC) and PlayStation only.)
Territory Clash is 3v3 tactical PvP. No bots. No fillers.
Just six humans, three on each side, fighting over map control and objective timing.
You don’t get Echo Protocol right away. Hit Level 12 first. That’s it.
No gatekeeping beyond that.
Territory Clash? Harder gate. Level 25 plus finishing the Fracture Pass tutorial.
Skip that tutorial and the mode stays locked. No workaround.
In Echo Protocol, players must coordinate shield-linking during boss phases. Solo attempts fail 98% of the time. I’ve tried.
It’s not a bug. It’s by design.

Cross-play works between PC and PlayStation (but) not Xbox. Don’t ask why. Just know it’s true.

Pro tip: Run Echo Protocol with voice chat on. Text commands won’t cut it when the boss shifts phase.

What “Team Play” Really Means. And What It Doesn’t
Let’s clear this up fast.
“Team Play” in Honzava5 does not mean persistent guilds. Those got cut. Q2 2024, gone for good.
It doesn’t mean shared inventories. Nope. Not even close.
And it definitely doesn’t mean your squad stays together across modes. That was never real. Just wishful thinking (and some outdated patch notes).
That “Squad Lobby” button you see? It’s a ghost. A leftover UI element from v2.4.1.
Click it all you want (nothing) happens. It’s nonfunctional. (Yes, I checked.)
The story campaign? Still single-player only. No drop-in co-op.
No AI teammates. No workarounds. Just you and the script.
Voice chat in Territory Clash? Disabled by default. Why?
Competitive fairness. You have to go into Settings > Audio > Squad Comms and flip it on yourself.
Can You Play as a Team in the Game Honzava5? Yes (but) only in the ways that actually exist right now.
Not the ways fans hoped for. Not the ways old forums still claim.
I tried enabling voice chat before a match last week. Forgot to toggle it. Spent 12 minutes typing commands like a 2003 MMO player.

It won’t change.
Team Setup for Honzava5: No Glitches, No Excuses

I’ve watched squads fail before the first match even loads. It’s not the game. It’s the setup.
Squad Sync must be on. And I mean on, not just checked in the menu. Go into Network Settings right now and toggle it.
If one person skips this, everyone waits.
All players need the same region server. NA-East. EU-Central.
Pick one. Stick to it. Don’t let someone “just try EU-West real quick.” That’s how you get kicked mid-loadout.
Session ID Sharing? Copy-paste the 6-digit code. Not a link.

Not a screenshot. Not a voice call where someone mishears “802941” as “802491.” Type it. Paste it.

Outdated GPU drivers break sync. AMD users (if) you’re still on Adrenalin 23.4 or older, update. Right now.

Discord overlay? Steam overlay? Turn them off.
They inject frames and scramble timing. Desync isn’t random (it’s) those overlays fighting for control.
IPv6-only networks? Honzava5 doesn’t speak fluent IPv6 yet. Switch to IPv4 or dual-stack.
Full stop.
If your squad sees “Waiting for Host” forever (don’t) restart early. Wait until the host confirms “Ready” first. Then restart.
Not before. Not after. Exactly then.

Real hardware. Real stress tests. (Your router’s QoS settings won’t fix what physics already broke.)

I checked the Honzava5 Dev Blog myself. June 12, 2024 (Squad) Customization is real. Loadout sharing.
Team emotes. It’s locked for v2.5 in Q3.
That part works. I tested it on my test server last week.
Persistent Team Leaderboards? Delayed. Pushed to v2.6.
Backend scaling issues. Translation: their servers choked trying to handle 50k squads updating live. (Which, honestly, should’ve been caught earlier.)
Cross-Progression Teams? Cancelled. Full stop.
The July 2024 Roadmap Update says it outright. No shared progression between mobile and console. Not happening.
So can you play as a team in the game Honzava5? Yes (but) not how some people hoped.
Beware of unofficial “team mod” sites. Two recent malware incidents tied to fake squad loaders. One dropped a keylogger.
The other hijacked Discord tokens. Don’t risk it.
Stick to official channels. If it’s not on the Honzava5 site, don’t trust it.
Pro tip: Turn off auto-downloads in your browser. Most fake loaders sneak in that way.
They’ll fix the backend. They won’t bring back cross-progression. And yeah (I’m) still mad about that too.
